In-house recording of a concert performance from the open air festival Richard-Wagner-Seefestspiele Haltern
Before the performance begins, Karl Ridderbusch (the festival director) announces that Reiner Goldberg is seriously indisposed due to the cold and rainy dress rehearsal two days earlier. Later there was another announcement (not recorded) that his aria in Act 3 would be omitted. So after the chorus scenes, Act 3 continued with “Verloren, ach verloren”.
