One of the original 13 tapes got lost during the war (beginning of act 3 including the “Wahnmonolog” by Hans Sachs). To get a complete recording Preiser added the missing material using the recording by Hermann Abendroth (Bayreuth 1943, with the same Hans Sachs, Paul Schöffler).
