Just got a new Tristan recording. It’s from the XV Festival Amazonas de Ópera in Manaus. Conducted by Luiz Fernando Malheiro. The American tenor John Charles Pierce and the Brazilian soprano Eliane Coelho sing the two leadings roles. Though it’s an in-house recording picture and sound are in HD quality (720p). However everything is shot from one camera angle. Conducting and orchestral playing are not on the highest level nonetheless an interesting, somewhat ‘exotic’ production.
